About the Role

The General Maintenance Worker supports the lead craftsman or crew leader in performing minor maintenance, repairs, and installations, coordinating work and inspections with facility managers, and responding to emergency repair calls during regular or on‑call hours. This full‑time, on‑site role is based at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama and may transition from temporary to permanent. • Perform all assigned duties safely and efficiently to maintain a safe work environment. • Maintain and repair real property, including electrical, mechanical, structural, fuel, and plumbing systems and associated hardware. • Adjust shop equipment to ensure proper operation. • Conduct periodic inspections, recurring maintenance, and document activities. • Ensure systems conform to written guidance and applicable changes. • Maintain required operating forms, records, and proper use of shop equipment. • Respond to emergency repair calls during regular or on‑call hours.

What You Bring

• Minimum 2+ years experience in electrical, mechanical, structural, fuel, or plumbing maintenance. • Read and interpret work orders, manuals; ability to read drawings/schematics preferred. • Proficient with maintenance tools and tablet‑based work order systems. • HVAC EPA certification preferred. • Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform varied physical tasks. • High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and U.S. citizenship.
