About the Role

The Engineering Specifications Consultant role, based in Dallas‑Fort Worth, provides technical expertise to MEP firms, design/build contractors, and other specifiers, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Viega products are included in project specifications. The consultant builds long‑term relationships with engineers, architects, contractors, and EPCs, executes account strategies, delivers presentations, collaborates with customers and internal teams, and drives specification revisions and new product integration. • Build and maintain relationships with MEP engineers, architects, contractors, EPCs, and manufacturers to secure inclusion of Viega products in master specifications. • Execute account strategies aligned with corporate objectives and develop strategic plans for key accounts. • Deliver professional presentations to engineers, architects, developers, facility engineers, plant managers, code officials, educators, and design/build contractors. • Collaborate with external customers, partners, sales, and product engineering teams to understand requirements and align solutions. • Partner with cross‑functional teams to revise existing specifications and develop new ones, recommending changes to meet industry requirements. • Provide technical support to internal stakeholders for engineering and product guide specifications. • Initiate new customer engagements, conduct regular visits, and identify new business opportunities. • Travel up to 70% of the time to provide in‑person support and liaison with code officials and inspectors. • Maintain and update Salesforce and the engineering guide specification database, reporting field activity, competition, forecasts, and industry trends. • Participate in professional societies (e.g., ASPE, ASHRAE) and attend meetings as required.

What You Bring

The position requires strong communication, organizational and analytical skills, deep knowledge of codes, standards and specification development, proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and Salesforce, and the ability to travel up to 70% of the time. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or civil engineering (or related licensure), 3‑5 years of industry experience, a valid driver’s license, and proven relationship‑building and strategic‑selling abilities; equivalent experience may be considered. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and CRM tools. • Detailed knowledge of codes, standards, and specification development processes. • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills. • Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic‑selling abilities. • Ability to interpret and forecast customer product requirements and market dynamics. • Accurate calculation skills for unit conversions, percentages, area, and volume. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering (or related licensure); 3‑5 years industry experience; valid driver’s license.
