About the Role

The Technical Designer role blends creativity, technical expertise, and business acumen to produce functionally beautiful spaces. You will support lead architects and designers throughout all project phases, from conceptual design through construction administration, contributing directly to Gensler’s mission. In this position you will be involved in coordinating projects through construction, ensuring design intent is realized, and developing detailed construction solutions. You will manage documentation, communication, and technical issue resolution while maintaining high‑quality drawings, specifications, and project manuals. • Coordinate projects through construction to ensure design intent is realized • Develop construction details and advance fabrication • Manage documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, etc.) • Oversee communication among project team, client, vendors, contractors, and consultants • Resolve complex technical and design issues to deliver innovative, constructible solutions • Produce drawings, specifications, and support construction administration tasks • Maintain project manuals, specifications, and ensure top‑notch technical quality • Conduct on‑site observations, document reviews, and process submittals/RFIs • Interface with building and permitting officials during permitting and construction phases • Contribute to project financial performance and review proposals/contracts

What You Bring

• Professional degree in architecture with 20+ years of commercial experience • Proficiency in 2D/3D software (CAD, Revit, Octane, 3dViz, 3ds MAX, Rhino, V‑Ray) and Adobe Creative Suite • Strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and BIM/parametric design (Grasshopper a plus) • State licensure and LEED accreditation preferred; interior architecture experience a plus
