About the Role
The Sprinkler Designer will create detailed CAD drawings to ensure efficient placement of products and systems. The role involves reading and interpreting construction documents, specifications, and contracts. The designer must apply applicable NFPA standards to layout sprinkler systems based on building type, construction type, hazard classification, and architectural features. Using AutoCAD‑based software, they design and coordinate sprinkler piping, perform hydraulic calculations, and verify design accuracy through field checks. Collaboration with district contracting teams is essential to understand contracts, schedule the design process, and coordinate material deliveries for optimal installation start dates. The designer also mentors others in proper sprinkler design execution and assists sales with design estimations. • Prepare detailed CAD drawings for sprinkler system placement. • Read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and contracts. • Apply NFPA standards to design layouts based on building type and hazards. • Design and coordinate sprinkler systems using AutoCAD‑based software and perform hydraulic calculations. • Conduct field checks to verify design accuracy. • Collaborate with contracting teams to schedule designs and coordinate material deliveries. • Mentor teammates in sprinkler design practices. • Assist sales with design estimations.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1‑5 years of fire sprinkler design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, HydraCAD or similar software. Candidates should be able to solve basic math problems, be familiar with NFPA standards, and preferably hold NICET Level II certification in water‑based systems. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent. • Possess 1–5 years of fire sprinkler design experience. • Proficient with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, or comparable sprinkler design software. • Solve basic geometry and algebra problems. • Knowledge of NFPA automatic sprinkler standards. • Prefer NICET Level II certification in water‑based systems.
