About the Role
In this role you will lead project teams—whether a large single project, multiple projects, or an entire program—while defining technical scope, reviewing cost estimates, and maintaining monthly budgets. You will drive repeat business, coordinate tasks efficiently, and provide regular client communications and reports. Conflict resolution and effective coordination are also key responsibilities. You will manage and monitor team performance, delegate clear instructions, and provide ongoing feedback, holding yourself and others accountable to organizational goals. Building relationships with peers, direct reports, and senior leaders, you will create development opportunities and communicate direction clearly. What You Bring
We are seeking a Director to partner with public‑sector clients in the San Jose, CA market. The role offers the chance to build strong client relationships, mentor and grow project managers, and shape delivery across our public portfolio. If you thrive on collaborating with public entities, navigating project nuances, and leading teams in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven setting, this position will let you make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture or a related field, with at least eight years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction management. Preferred certifications include CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, or LEED. A strong command of written and oral communication, active listening, and the ability to distinguish cause and effect are required. • Exercise creativity and resourcefulness to deliver projects within compressed timeframes. • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication, active listening, and problem analysis. • Hold a BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture or related field with 8+ years experience. • Preferred certifications: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED.

Cumming Group offers a salary range of $172,900 – $242,033 per year, based on geography, experience, and client needs, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, holidays, disability coverage, and an employee assistance program.
