About the Role
The Driver Manager role oversees drivers across a market to ensure prompt receipt and delivery of equipment to customers and other Sunbelt locations, adhering to company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. Key responsibilities include enforcing safety procedures, hiring and mentoring delivery staff, managing team workload and performance, and orchestrating accurate, timely dispatch of rental equipment. The manager also creates driver schedules, monitors daily truck inspections, reviews driver logs for compliance, and works closely with dispatch coordinators and store locations to meet customer needs. • Enforce Sunbelt safety procedures and DOT compliance. • Hire, train, mentor, and coach pick‑up and delivery staff. • Manage team workload, delegate tasks, and ensure safety and performance. • Dispatch rental equipment accurately and timely across the market. • Coordinate equipment transfers and consumables as needed. • Create and monitor driver schedules; oversee daily truck inspections. • Review driver logs for compliance with company and DOT standards. • Collaborate with dispatch coordinators to streamline contract creation and closure. • Resolve internal and external customer complaints professionally. • Provide feedback to Counter and Service Departments on equipment delivery. • Report issues to supervisors promptly and follow up for resolution.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and possess at least five years of dispatching experience in the construction or industrial equipment sector. They should be knowledgeable about DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and leadership skills, and have a solid understanding of the delivery area. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus 5+ years dispatching. • Knowledge of construction/industrial equipment and DOT FMCSA regulations. • Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
