Job Highlights
About the Role
Each day you will maintain and repair trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers across the United States, using modern tools and procedures on both diesel and, at some locations, CNG fleets. • Work in Houghton, MI repair shop serving WM’s hauling site. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel and CNG vehicles. • Estimate time and material costs; complete work within Standard Labor Repair Times. • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls and perform safety checks. • Document parts usage, repair times, and complete required paperwork. • Assist senior mechanics and handle driver vehicle inspection report repairs. • Maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA and corporate safety standards.

What You Bring
The role demands physical effort such as lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing, and constant standing, and involves exposure to typical shop hazards, chemicals, noise, and outdoor weather conditions. Candidates must have at least two years of relevant mechanical experience, a valid driver’s license, be 18 or older, legally eligible to work in the United States, and be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical test. • Stable Monday‑Friday 6 am–3 pm shift (occasional Saturdays); overtime as needed. • Minimum 2 years relevant mechanical experience; valid driver’s license; 18+ years old; legal U.S. work eligibility. • Pass pre‑employment drug screen, physical, and meet physical demands (lifting, standing, climbing, exposure to hazards). • Team‑player attitude, independent work capability, enjoy varied challenges, strong problem‑solving skills. • Exposure to indoor garage, shop, gas plant, and outdoor conditions including inclement weather and noise.
