About the Role

You will be hands‑on with technical work that drives project success, including data collection and analysis, remediation design, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with seasoned technical leaders will give you exposure to site investigations, M&A due diligence, sustainable operations, and more. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex environmental requirements. Conduct field activities such as environmental sampling, drilling oversight, well installation, remedial pilot testing, construction oversight, and O&M of remedial systems. Assist with monitoring air, soil vapor, groundwater, and system performance, and compile, analyze, and interpret environmental data for technical reports. Support preparation of compliance plans, permits, and reports covering air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, stormwater, and wastewater, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. What You Bring

If you're an experienced environmental engineer or geologist looking to deepen your technical expertise while working on complex, real‑world challenges, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in Southern California and beyond. You will join ERM's Irvine, CA team as a Consultant, Engineering or Geologist. A bachelor’s degree in chemical, civil, environmental engineering or geology is required. You need at least 2 years of relevant environmental experience, including fieldwork, and a 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain one. Strong written and verbal communication, analytical abilities, and mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting are essential. You must be detail‑oriented, able to multitask, travel frequently, and work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision. A valid driver’s license is required. Three or more years of relevant experience, EIT or GIT certification, and experience preparing detailed technical reports are preferred. Familiarity with regulatory agencies or subcontractors and being a local candidate are also valued. These qualifications further enhance your ability to succeed in the role. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or geology and at least 2 years of relevant field experience. • Obtain or hold a 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to client sites. • Preferred: at least 3 years experience, EIT/GIT certification, and extensive technical report writing.

Benefits

The anticipated annual base pay ranges from $74,000 to $100,083, with bonus eligibility for certain employee groups. ERM offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, and retirement plans such as 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP. Additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions is discretionary and not guaranteed. • Offer annual base salary $74k–$100k with potential bonus eligibility. • Provide comprehensive benefits including PTO, parental leave, medical/dental/vision, life and disability insurance, and retirement plans.
