Payroll Administrator

About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Administrator for our Group Services team in Hinckley. The role will support the payroll function within a busy office environment, delivering accurate payroll processing for multiple business units. The successful candidate will join a team responsible for both weekly and monthly payroll runs, ensuring that employee information is correctly recorded and updated before cut‑off dates. They will also monitor timesheet submission, calculate various leave payments, and handle a range of deductions and third‑party payments while maintaining high data integrity. Additional duties include processing new starter and leaver documentation, producing reports that confirm payroll accuracy, and addressing queries from staff, statutory bodies and business units. The role also involves assisting with benefit‑in‑kind questions and providing coverage during holiday periods. • Process weekly and monthly payroll for assigned business units • Enter and validate employee data and amendments before payroll deadlines • Identify missing timesheets and ensure timely submission • Calculate family and sickness leave payments • Manage regular and irregular deductions, payments, and third‑party obligations • Handle starter, leaver and related tax documentation • Generate and distribute payroll accuracy reports • Respond to employee, statutory and business‑unit payroll queries • Support benefit‑in‑kind inquiries and provide holiday cover as needed • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, SSC procedures and SLAs

What You Bring

Ideal applicants will possess a solid understanding of statutory maternity, paternity and sickness pay as defined by HMRC, as well as competence in tax and National Insurance calculations. Experience with Oracle payroll systems is advantageous, and a background in a fast‑paced payroll or finance department is preferred. • Apply knowledge of SMP, SPP, SSP, tax and NI regulations • Utilize Oracle payroll system (desirable) • Prior experience in a busy payroll or finance environment
