About the Role
The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. The role includes installing, maintaining, and servicing automated packaging and distribution equipment, as well as mentoring junior technicians to develop their skills. Daily duties involve promoting a safe work environment, completing preventive maintenance tasks with proper documentation, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems on material handling equipment such as belts, motors, photo‑eyes, and relays. The technician also tracks inventory, maintains positive relationships across the facility, and may travel up to 20 % of the time while handling loads up to 49 lb during 12‑hour shifts. • Conduct preventive maintenance on material handling equipment and record all activities. • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in belts, motors, sensors, and pneumatic systems. • Install, service, and maintain automated packaging and distribution machinery. • Mentor junior technicians to enhance their technical capabilities. • Manage inventory and track parts using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). • Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe work environment.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible availability for shifts, weekends, nights or holidays, and at least two years of experience repairing material handling equipment and performing predictive maintenance. Preferred credentials are an associate or higher degree in mechanical or electrical fields, experience with automated conveyor systems, blueprint and schematic reading, robotics or electromechanical maintenance, and proficiency with a computerized maintenance management system. The position demands repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and lifting parts averaging 20 lb, with occasional loads up to 49 lb. Working conditions may involve confined spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long periods, and maneuvering bulky equipment.
