About the Role
• Deliver crane, rigging, and ironworking NCCER modules, assessments, and performance profiles. • Coordinate classroom instruction, online assessments, and field evaluations with project leadership and instructors. • Ensure availability of tools, books, and resources for all training sessions. • Manage, mentor, and audit project‑based instructors, evaluators, and proctors. • Maintain the master training calendar for the Operating Group. • Collaborate with project teams to develop training plans, schedules, and apprentice selections. • Work with the Apprenticeship Program Manager and HR Coordinator on documentation tracking and storage. • Assist with new apprentice registration paperwork as needed. • Apply creative presentation and adult learning techniques in training delivery. • Participate in electrical subject‑matter review committees with NCCER and related organizations. • Build relationships with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Ironworker Lead Trainer to coordinate, instruct, and manage the Mortenson Registered Apprenticeship Program, serving as the subject matter expert and primary contact for operating group leadership. The role requires approximately 75% travel across the United States and involves close collaboration with project leadership, instructors, and the Apprenticeship Program Manager to ensure effective training delivery and administrative support, while applying adult learning and presentation techniques. Ideal candidates have at least four years of journey‑level ironworking experience, preferably have completed NCCER ICTP, are familiar with OSHA and NCCER curricula, possess classroom facilitation experience, and demonstrate strong communication, listening, and computer skills; a valid driver’s license and bilingual English/Spanish abilities are a plus.
