Loss Mitigation Specialist - Resident Services

About the Role

The Residential Services Loss Mitigation Specialist acts as a liaison to protect financial integrity across Texas communities. The role leads fraud‑prevention initiatives, supports delinquency and legal processes, and partners with onsite teams, the Customer Care Center, AvalonBay Legal and external agencies. Responsibilities include consistent policy application, timely legal action and reducing bad debt through proactive monitoring, training and cross‑functional collaboration.

What You Bring

This position requires working in‑person at the RS Community in Carrollton, Texas; it is not a hybrid or remote role. Travel across Texas and attendance at court proceedings may be required. • Demonstrated experience in property management, loss mitigation, or legal coordination. • Strong knowledge of fraud‑prevention tools and housing subsidy programs. • Excellent verbal communication skills, able to convey ideas clearly. • Clear and concise written English communication. • Proficiency with Salesforce and other property‑management systems. • Ability to travel statewide and attend court proceedings as needed. • Competent in basic arithmetic for calculations, estimates and percentages. • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
