About the Role
In the Facilities & Operations Management area, the manager will lead daily operations of critical infrastructure facilities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability without impacting internal or external customers. They will supervise a team that includes Facility Coordinators, Chief Engineers, Workplace Experience Coordinators, technicians, handypersons, and vendors, and act as the single point‑of‑contact for all facility‑related issues, handling customer relationships, schedules, projects, budgets, expansion, and staffing. The role includes Maintenance & Technical Oversight responsibilities such as supporting the design and implementation of maintenance strategies, developing annual shutdown programs for preventive maintenance, and monitoring systems like HVAC, electrical, mechanical, BAS, BMS, and fire protection. The manager will identify potential issues, implement corrective actions, and resolve complex problems while minimizing risk and business impact, and will maintain technical knowledge of critical electrical and mechanical systems. Financial & Vendor Management duties involve developing and managing budgets for facility operations and maintenance, forecasting repairs and improvements, and coordinating the selection, vetting, and oversight of sub‑contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with service level agreements and quality standards. The manager will also handle purchasing and subcontractor utilization. Compliance & Safety responsibilities require ensuring that all work in mission‑critical spaces meets high‑quality standards, adhering to policies and audit standards for hazardous material handling, and maintaining accurate facility documentation, including maintenance logs and safety records. Project outcomes must satisfy client expectations regarding budgets, schedules, performance indicators, and contractual requirements. In Training & Development, the manager will provide hands‑on instruction and support to expand the capabilities of operations staff in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures, promote professionalism, and ensure that ABM training expectations are met and audited monthly. Continuous Improvement & Documentation tasks include participating in sustainability initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs, auditing CMMS databases for accuracy, generating reports, controlling system access, and collaborating with other departments on facility‑related projects while staying current with industry trends and best practices. • Lead daily operations of critical infrastructure facilities, ensuring performance and reliability. • Supervise Facility Coordinators, engineers, technicians, handypersons, and vendors. • Serve as primary contact for facility issues, managing customer relationships, schedules, projects, budgets, and staffing. • Oversee after‑hours emergency response and conduct regular inspections for regulatory compliance. • Develop and execute preventive maintenance strategies, including annual shutdown programs. • Monitor HVAC, electrical, mechanical, BAS/BMS, and fire protection systems, addressing issues proactively. • Manage budgets, forecast repairs, and coordinate sub‑contractor selection and performance. • Ensure compliance with safety policies, hazardous material handling, and accurate documentation. • Provide training and mentorship to operations staff on maintenance, safety, and tooling. • Lead sustainability initiatives and audit CMMS data for accuracy and reporting. • Maintain expertise in CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and building automation systems.
