About the Role
The Corrosion Control Technician – 2nd Shift position supports the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) located in Jacksonville, Florida. KBR provides maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps, planning, coordinating, and executing upkeep of ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces for over 35 years. The role involves setting up, operating, and performing preventative maintenance on stationary and portable sandblasting equipment used to clean metal and non‑metal surfaces. It also includes applying coating materials such as paint, varnish, lacquer, and shellac to wood, metal, glass, concrete and other substrates with brushes, rollers, spray guns, and related techniques. The technician provides technical assistance, guidance, and training to lower‑level painters and assists higher‑level painters while performing other assigned tasks. • Set up, operate, and maintain stationary and portable sandblasting equipment. • Perform preventative maintenance on sandblasting machines. • Apply paints, varnishes, lacquers, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to lower‑level painters. • Assist senior painters with complex painting tasks. • Follow OSHA, SPCC, EPA, SSPC, and NACE regulations for sandblasting and painting.

What You Bring
Candidates must be high‑school graduates or equivalent with at least eight years of directly related experience and completion of a Vehicle Body Repair Course or comparable training. Preferred qualifications include an apprenticeship as a painter or sandblaster, a valid state driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Tactical Operator License. The position requires working knowledge of sandblasting equipment maintenance, abrasive selection, air pressure settings, OSHA, SPCC, and EPA regulations, as well as standard surface preparation and coating methods. Applicants must be medically and physically capable of wearing a respirator, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and heights, and able to lift 50 lb unaided. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access. • Meet basic qualifications: high school diploma, 8 years related experience, Vehicle Body Repair Course, valid driver’s license. • Possess knowledge of abrasive types, air pressure settings, and surface preparation methods. • Be medically capable of wearing a respirator, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces and extreme temperatures. • Able to lift 50 lb unaided and work at heights. • U.S. citizen eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
