About the Role

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist reports to the Site Manager and works within a facility‑management organization that services R&D labs, critical data environments, and commercial office spaces. The role focuses on maintaining compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements while completing assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include inspecting sites for batteries, electronic waste, and hazardous waste, collecting and packaging them according to regulatory guidelines, and coordinating their shipment. The specialist documents each shipment, signs on behalf of AMD, and submits required paperwork to the onsite EHS Engineer. Additional duties involve performing chemical inventories, ventilation surveys, and supporting lab waste disposal and empty‑box management. The specialist conducts monthly indoor EHS inspections—covering UPS rooms, fire extinguishers, eye‑wash stations, first‑aid kits, AEDs, and soldering stations—as well as noise surveys, ergonomic assessments, and refrigerant inventories. They also review and audit hot‑work activities, update evacuation plans and assembly‑area markings, and report energy metrics such as electricity, water, and waste usage. Participation in compliance audits, remediation of violations, and distribution of COVID‑19 PPE are also required. • Inspect sites and collect batteries, electronic waste, and hazardous waste for proper packaging and shipment. • Coordinate shipment schedules, document procedures, and sign shipping paperwork on behalf of AMD. • Conduct chemical inventories, ventilation surveys, and monthly indoor EHS inspections of UPS rooms, fire extinguishers, eye‑wash stations, first‑aid kits, AEDs, and soldering stations. • Perform noise surveys, ergonomic assessments, refrigerant inventories, and report energy metrics (electricity, water, waste). • Review, approve, and audit hot‑work activities and support lab waste disposal and empty‑box management. • Attend compliance audits, address identified violations, and manage distribution of COVID‑19 PPE. • Maintain evacuation plans, produce site maps, and mark assembly areas.

What You Bring

Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of two years of EHS experience, and a valid driver’s license. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on‑call rotations is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to read and interpret regulatory documents. Strong communication skills are needed to interact effectively with management and client representatives. The position demands physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds, as well as vision capabilities for close and distance tasks.
