About the Role
• Manage overall construction activities and assign tasks. • Coordinate with departments to secure materials, equipment, and inspections per schedule. • Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and managing labor, equipment, and supplies. • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability. • Create and maintain project schedules and three‑week look‑ahead plans. • Align plans and specifications with engineers, resolving discrepancies. • Develop site utilization plans and determine appropriate crew sizes. • Select formwork systems and equipment. • Lead pre‑construction planning sessions and site meetings. • Supervise and oversee work crews. • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, foremen, and assistant superintendents. • Foster teamwork and ensure crews have necessary resources. • Provide work direction and conduct performance evaluations. • Identify hiring needs and participate in recruitment and performance decisions. • Promote Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on site. • Manage open‑shop and union matters. • Maintain relationships with visitors, customers, architects, unions, and subcontractors. • Optimize site logistics and suggest improvements.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent I to join its Energy Storage Group. The role requires interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment while remaining flexible, proactive, and professional. The superintendent will coordinate on‑site work activities and supervise teams on multiple or large, complex construction projects. Qualified candidates will possess extensive construction and supervisory experience, relevant academic credentials or trade experience, and a background in solar or large industrial power projects. They must demonstrate strong detail orientation, basic knowledge of construction law, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience. • Minimum 15 years construction experience, including 10 years in a supervisory role. • Experience with solar or large industrial power projects. • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects. • Strong detail orientation for organizing and tracking tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and apply Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

It offers opportunities to work on projects throughout the United States. Compensation includes a base pay range of $144,300 to $216,500, with higher rates for certain cities, and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
