About the Role

The consultant will conduct thorough technical audits and due‑diligence on HVAC, PHE, and fire‑safety systems within large‑scale commercial buildings, and prepare comprehensive assessment and compliance reports with actionable recommendations for operational efficiency, preventive maintenance, and regulatory compliance. On‑site inspections, system performance evaluations, and troubleshooting of mechanical, plumbing, and fire‑safety equipment will be performed, while liaising with building managers and facility teams to coordinate corrective actions and support implementation of improvements. Additional duties include delivering training sessions and knowledge‑sharing for client staff, staying up‑to‑date with current and emerging codes, standards, and technology advancements, and maintaining detailed, organized documentation for all audits and communications. The consultant will represent FMAS professionally during all client interactions, demonstrating superior technical competence and solution‑oriented engagement. • Conduct technical audits of HVAC, public health, and fire‑safety systems in commercial buildings. • Prepare comprehensive compliance reports with actionable efficiency and maintenance recommendations. • Perform on‑site inspections, performance evaluations, and troubleshooting of mechanical, plumbing, and fire‑safety equipment. • Collaborate with building managers and facility teams to coordinate corrective actions and implement system improvements. • Deliver training sessions to client staff on operation, maintenance, and optimisation of building systems. • Stay current on industry codes, standards, and emerging technologies related to HVAC, PHE, and fire protection. • Maintain organised documentation for all audits, inspections, and client communications. • Travel up to 40% of the time to various commercial sites for audits and client meetings.

What You Bring

The FMAS team is seeking a highly qualified HVAC and Public Health Engineering (PHE) Consultant to support performance and compliance audit programmes across a portfolio of commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have eight to twelve years of demonstrated experience in HVAC and PHE consulting within the commercial real‑estate or facilities‑management sector, and the role requires regular travel (up to 40%) to various commercial sites. Key qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or a related discipline, and extensive technical expertise in HVAC systems, water‑treatment and plumbing, fire‑safety systems, controls and automation, as well as indoor‑air‑quality monitoring. Strong communication, analytical, and technical‑reporting skills, together with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, are essential. • Possess 8–12 years of HVAC/PHE consulting experience and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Public Health Engineering. • Demonstrate expertise in HVAC, water‑treatment, fire‑safety, BMS, and indoor‑air‑quality monitoring.
