About the Role
As a Senior Software R&D Engineer you will develop PC‑based desktop applications, participate in product requirement workshops, and carry out design, coding and unit‑testing activities in line with the quality management system. You will design and adapt software modules, set up system integrations, ensure consistent and maintainable architecture across subsystems, and guarantee compliance with external and internal regulations while adhering to Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity. • Develop PC‑based desktop applications using C#, WPF, XML and SQL Server. • Participate in product requirement workshops and translate needs into software designs. • Design, code, unit‑test and profile software modules following quality management standards. • Implement and maintain modular, extensible architectures ensuring subsystem integration. • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, procedures and guidelines. • Collaborate with management, business analysts and the developer community across product teams. • Apply strong OOP, design‑pattern and multithreading expertise in .NET environments. • Use development tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Enterprise Architect and Visual Studio 2019+.

What You Bring
The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or engineering and 3‑8 years of Windows application development experience, with strong object‑oriented programming skills, expertise in Microsoft .NET (C#, WPF, XML, SQL Server) and knowledge of design patterns, multithreading, and development tools such as Azure DevOps, Git and Visual Studio. • Hold a BSc/MSc in Computer Science or Engineering with 3‑8 years of Windows development experience. • Desirable: knowledge of power‑systems domain and IEC 61850 standards.
