About the Role
Key duties include preparing apartments for occupancy—painting, drywall repair, trash removal, and mechanical, plumbing, or electrical work—handling daily resident service requests, repairing electrical, plumbing, boiler, hot‑water, HVAC, and appliance systems, and performing carpentry, painting, and pool maintenance as needed. The technician also maintains the grounds, clears trash and pet waste, supports preventative maintenance tasks, participates in an on‑call rotation, and ensures common areas and amenities meet Weidner’s quality standards. • Prepare apartments for occupancy (painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, electrical). • Respond to daily resident service requests promptly. • Repair electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, and appliances. • Perform carpentry, interior/exterior painting, and detailed finish work. • Maintain swimming pools, monitor chemical balance, and keep required logs. • Conduct daily grounds maintenance, including trash removal and pet waste stations. • Participate in preventive maintenance and property improvement tasks. • Join the on‑call rotation as scheduled. • Ensure market‑ready apartments, common areas, and amenities meet quality standards. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and stand for entire shift. • Complete tasks safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. • Follow Weidner’s mission, policies, fair‑housing, and legal requirements. • Maintain punctual attendance, dress code, and professional appearance. • Provide reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance.

What You Bring
Candidates must have 1–2 years of maintenance experience and strong mechanical aptitude, be able to lift up to 80 lb and push/pull 200 lb, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Required knowledge includes electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool, appliance, irrigation, and HVAC systems; certifications such as HVAC, CPO, EPA, and CAMT are desired. The role demands safe, efficient work, strong motivation to learn, clear communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office and property‑management software, adherence to Weidner policies, fair‑housing laws, and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance. • Lift/carry up to 80 lb, climb ladders and stairs, and push/pull up to 200 lb. • Apply knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool, appliances, irrigation, and HVAC systems. • Possess or pursue HVAC, CPO, EPA, or CAMT certifications. • Communicate directions clearly in person, phone, email, or text. • Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and learn Yardi/Paycom software. • Work independently or as part of a team, including outside normal hours if needed. • Pass criminal background check and agree to voluntary drug testing.
