About the Role
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to net‑zero carbon transition initiatives and drive continuous improvement in systems and processes. They will also mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development. • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection. • Apply value management techniques early in projects. • Lead cost estimating, planning, and present final cost plans. • Assist in procurement and selection of the main contractor. • Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds, licences and support their execution. • Advise on administration of building contract terms. • Measure work progress, provide valuations and manage variations with contractors. • Deliver cost control and reporting throughout the contract. • Produce financial reports for clients at required frequencies. • Identify costs linked to design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges. • Evaluate contractor claims for delays and additional costs. • Advise on issuance of practical completion certificates and negotiate final accounts. • Drive improvements in systems, processes and transformational change. • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior cost consultants and team members. • Foster continuous improvement of working processes. • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Manage stakeholder expectations and communications. • Support net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing associated emissions.

What You Bring
• Hold a degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent). • Possess professional membership or be working towards MRICS/RICS (or equivalent). • Demonstrate strong understanding of sustainability, social value and carbon reduction. • Bring proven experience in cost consultancy, cost planning, budgeting and estimating. • Have knowledge of various contract forms and contract administration. • Exhibit negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving skills. • Be digitally competent and an effective communicator with all stakeholders.

Benefits
