About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineering Technical Lead is a full‑time position located in Indianapolis, IN. Acting as the Technical Authority for the Supplier Management Team, you will integrate all Manufacturing Engineering activities across the product lifecycle and the supply chain. You will lead, manage, and develop the Manufacturing Engineers while reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture meet quality, cost, delivery, and lead‑time requirements. Key duties include approving component airworthiness, chairing change authority, providing technical input to supply‑chain strategy, and integrating capability acquisition with product introduction. You will also develop real‑time process capability metrics, drive best‑practice manufacturing processes, lead technical problem resolution, and coach teams in RRPS and DMAIC tools. • Serve as Technical Authority for the supply chain, ensuring manufacturing methods meet quality, cost, delivery, and lead‑time targets. • Approve component airworthiness and process critical data in line with Rolls‑Royce procedures. • Chair change authority (as delegated) and provide technical input to supply‑chain strategy and capital planning. • Integrate capability acquisition and product introduction, validating new capabilities for production readiness. • Develop real‑time process capability capture methods and apply them across facilities and new product designs. • Drive manufacturing processes toward best practice by collaborating with Commodity Leaders and Process Owners. • Lead technical problem resolution, improvement activities, and coach teams in RRPS and DMAIC tools.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of Manufacturing Engineering experience (or a Master’s with three years) and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Preferred qualifications include the ability to discuss technical and business issues with all management levels, DMAIC Belt certification, knowledge of metal removal or casting, FAIR processes, source/method change, and familiarity with manufacturing systems such as CAD, CAM, SAP, and Manufacturing Execution Systems. • Require a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years (or Master’s with 3+ years) in Manufacturing Engineering and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. • Preferred: experience communicating technical and business issues at all management levels, DMAIC Belt certification, knowledge of metal removal or casting, FAIR processes, source/method change, and manufacturing systems (CAD, CAM, SAP, etc.).
