About the Role
• Lead technical and logistical execution of building restoration projects from assessment through close‑out. • Develop and review scopes of work and construction documents for roofing, waterproofing, concrete, façade, and fenestration repairs. • Conduct condition assessments per industry standards and deliver field reports and presentations. • Perform structural evaluations of existing concrete and masonry, including load path verification and code compliance. • Coordinate construction‑phase inspections, quality control reviews, and field testing. • Review and respond to submittals, RFIs, and change orders with technical accuracy. • Interface with clients, property managers, and contractors to meet schedule, quality, and cost objectives. • Mentor junior staff in restoration engineering best practices. • Lead client meetings, board presentations, and technical discussions with owners and stakeholders. • Support business development by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and building client relationships.

What You Bring
Kimley-Horn's Miami, Florida office is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with over three years of experience to join the Building Structures team and lead restoration projects focused on building envelope and structural rehabilitation. The role involves managing complex scopes that include roofing, waterproofing, concrete repair, sealants, fenestration, stucco, exterior painting, and metal or stone cladding systems. It is a leadership position responsible for technical execution, inspection coordination, client communication, and construction‑phase services, and it is not a remote role. • Minimum three years of experience in structural or façade restoration, preferably on high‑rise residential or commercial buildings. • Active Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months. • Technical expertise in at least three areas such as roofing, waterproofing, concrete restoration, fenestration, stucco, sealants, masonry, or cladding. • Familiarity with codes and guidelines including FBC, IBC, ACI 562, ICRI, ASTM E2128, ASTM C1193, AAMA 511. • Strong project management skills covering budgeting, scheduling, change management, and inspection coordination. • Proficiency in technical writing, construction detailing, and specification development. • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project (or similar tools). • Excellent verbal and written communication for translating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple projects and perform site work as needed.
