About the Role
The Chief Electrical Estimator leads the estimating department, setting technical standards, overseeing training and staffing, and ensuring compliance with InPwr policies. The role is full‑time, onsite Monday‑Friday, with locations available in Indianapolis, IN or Denver, CO, and a relocation package is offered for moves to Indianapolis. Key responsibilities include supervising the Stop Gate estimating process, evaluating personnel performance and compensation, promoting core values, and maintaining collaborative relationships with project management, superintendents, engineering, HR, and design teams. The estimator also manages customer RFPs, bid deadlines, vendor negotiations, and bid‑proposal follow‑up strategies. Additional duties cover strategic bid planning with business development and project managers, quality control of the Stop Gate 1 process, assigning tasks, developing scope pricing, overseeing bid documentation, vendor quotations, compliance with authority and utility requirements, and conducting final estimate reviews and change‑order pricing. Weekly updates on bid tracking, project status, and the global Confidential List are also required. • Supervise and enforce the Stop Gate estimating process and InPwr HR policies. • Evaluate estimating staff qualifications, performance, and compensation. • Foster collaborative relationships with project management, superintendents, engineering, HR, and design directors. • Manage customer RFPs, bid timelines, vendor negotiations, and proposal follow‑up. • Lead strategic bid planning with business development and project managers. • Assign estimating tasks based on personnel expertise and monitor scope pricing. • Oversee bid documentation, subcontractor/vendor quotations, and compliance with AHJ, utility, and NEC requirements. • Conduct final estimate reviews, change‑order pricing, and weekly bid status updates. • Utilize Microsoft Office and Accubid for estimating and document control.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are at least ten years of electrical estimating experience, a Master’s electrical license, strong knowledge of the NEC and electrical theory, and proficiency in reading construction drawings and specifications. The candidate must possess expertise in electrical layout, design‑engineering concepts, one‑line diagrams, load calculations, and feeder/branch circuit analysis. The position demands working 8‑10 hours per day, wearing required PPE, and adhering to safety protocols, including COVID‑19 precautions.
