SMART Building Consultant -Birmingham & London

About the Role

The position is open to consultants at various seniority levels—Consultant, Senior Consultant and Principal Consultant—each responsible for delivering technology‑focused projects, managing stakeholder relationships and contributing to new business growth. • Develop SMART building strategies and technology roadmaps with clients. • Create business cases and user persona maps to align solutions with objectives. • Guide design and integration of structured cabling, wireless, BMS, security, IoT, 5G, AV and other SMART technologies. • Oversee technology delivery against construction schedules, RIBA plan of work and client KPIs. • Act as primary liaison among clients, construction teams and consultants to ensure seamless implementation. • Establish governance structures, provide progress reports and manage change control processes. • Identify pain points, improve user experiences and advise on technology decisions. • Monitor project budgets, procurement and installation of IT infrastructure. • Lead stakeholder engagement, define success criteria and ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold an APM, Agile or PRINCE2‑type project management qualification and have demonstrated SMART‑building learning. Required skills include client engagement, stakeholder management, integrated technology delivery, rapid mastery of technical concepts and strong written, verbal and presentation communication. Experience in the commercial property sector, RIBA plan of work and bid writing is desirable.
