Drilling & Completions Data Technician

About the Role

The Drilling & Completions Data Technician provides day‑to‑day data support for Fervo’s drilling and completions operations, maintaining data accuracy, building dashboards, and assisting in operational summaries. The role works closely with Drilling & Completions Engineers, who retain primary responsibility for decisions. The position is high‑impact support, requiring QA/QC of WellView inputs, validation of operational and cost data, and ensuring consistent data quality across systems. It also involves timely cost tracking and reporting. The technician builds and improves Power BI dashboards that visualize performance, costs, and execution metrics, translating engineering inputs into structured datasets and partnering with stakeholders to define metrics and maintain data refresh processes. They aggregate data for regular operations reports, align information across WellView, cost systems, and dashboards, respond to ad‑hoc requests, and maintain organized documentation for internal reviews. • Perform QA/QC of WellView inputs for daily drilling and completions reports. • Validate operational and cost data against field activity and engineering inputs; flag discrepancies. • Maintain data quality standards across drilling and completions systems. • Support accurate, timely cost tracking and operational reporting. • Build, maintain, and continuously improve Power BI dashboards for performance, cost, and execution metrics. • Translate operational and engineering inputs into structured datasets and visualizations. • Partner with engineers and stakeholders to define metrics, standardize data definitions, and enhance dashboard usability. • Manage data refresh, validation, and documentation processes for dashboards. • Aggregate drilling and completions data to prepare regular operations reports. • Ensure data alignment across WellView, cost systems, and dashboards. • Respond to ad‑hoc data requests related to drilling performance and costs. • Maintain organized documentation and data outputs for internal reviews and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 10+ years of relevant experience, strong attention to detail, deep Power BI expertise, proficiency in Excel, and experience with drilling/completions data workflows and cost tracking. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Data Analytics, or related field, or 10+ years of reporting/software experience. • Experience supporting operational data, reporting, or technical workflows in drilling/completions. • Familiarity with WellView or similar drilling data systems. • Strong attention to detail for data QA/QC. • Deep hands‑on expertise with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, and visualization. • Proficiency in Excel and handling structured operational datasets. • Strong organizational and communication abilities. • Exposure to drilling/completions cost tracking, AFE reporting, and cost structures. • Experience collaborating with field operations or engineering teams.
