About the Role

The Materials Manager at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group oversees all aspects of project material management, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, and on‑site contractor coordination. This role ensures materials align with construction schedules and client requirements while maintaining inventory accuracy and safety. • Develop and manage industry‑best material management practices and resources with the client. • Coordinate with approved local vendors to obtain expedited materials. • Collaborate with procurement to align material delivery with construction schedules and communicate with client, project team, and vendors. • Perform material take‑offs and work with engineering, project management, and construction to determine required quantities. • Manage lead times, order‑by dates, and decision points, forecasting and reserving materials based on the construction schedule. • Oversee vendor shipments to ensure timely logistics and delivery to the project site. • Monitor changes to material requirements and adjust requisitions or revisions promptly. • Prepare Materials Management Execution Plans as needed. • Receive, issue, and control all materials, equipment, tools, and consumables for accurate construction support. • Design warehouse or lay‑down yard layouts using best practices to maximize space and safety. • Ensure safe handling and storage of inventory according to specifications. • Conduct receiving, counting, and inspection of deliveries, addressing QA/QC discrepancies, overages, shortages, or damage. • Resolve material‑related questions by coordinating among project managers, engineering, suppliers, fabricators, and construction teams. • Plan and execute phase bundling, structure staging, and kitting to streamline construction materials. • Perform on‑site material audits to verify inventory accuracy. • Input and maintain project material data in ClearSpider for real‑time inventory reporting. • Direct off‑loading and storage operations for received or issued materials. • Close out material purchases, purchase orders, and contract requirements, arranging disposition of excess materials. • Act as liaison among project manager, customer, supplier, and construction management to resolve issues. • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures and complete special projects or other assigned duties.

What You Bring

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma (or equivalent) with two years of relevant experience; a bachelor’s degree and five years of experience are preferred, especially in construction and EPC projects for electric power delivery. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, resourceful, and possesses strong written and verbal communication, problem‑solving, and multitasking abilities. Ability to work irregular hours and travel up to 25 % of the time is required.
