About the Role
In this hands‑on role you will execute well‑defined process engineering tasks, collaborate with project teams, and ensure deliverables meet the project schedule, budget, and scope. Responsibilities include technical collaboration, quality assurance/quality control, and production of process engineering documents according to ZAP’s standard procedures. • Perform technical collaboration and conduct intra‑ and inter‑disciplinary QA/QC checks on deliverables. • Create process engineering documents: block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, PSV sizing calculations, operating procedures, flare studies, and vendor data evaluations. • Develop design basis, line lists, equipment sizing datasheets, cause‑and‑effect analyses, controls narratives, and instrument/valve datasheets. • Participate in project kickoff, weekly status, design review, and model review meetings; monitor schedule and budget, flag issues, and close out projects with job books. • Maintain industry knowledge by reviewing calculations, design guidelines, and standards; incorporate redlines and QA/QC comments into work.

What You Bring
The position involves working in both office and construction environments where distractions, noise, OSHA hazards, and equipment are common. Physical demands include sitting for extended periods, occasional standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lb, and using vision capabilities such as close and peripheral vision. Core competencies expected of the successful candidate are teamwork, effective communication, strong ethics, initiative, and a focus on quality, all demonstrated through collaboration, clear expression, integrity, proactive problem‑solving, and attention to detail. • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering required. • Proficient with process simulation software (HYSYS, UniSim, ProMax, VMG Symmetry) and Excel. • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Benefits
The Process Engineer 1 position is located in Bethlehem, PA, and is a full‑time, exempt role with a salary range of $78,000 to $93,600. Travel may be required up to 20% and the standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Typical work hours follow a 40‑hour week with occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
