Quality Inspector - CWI
Perform welding inspections, dimensional checks, and quality control in a steel fabrication shop.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Perform visual inspections, layout checks, and dimensional checks of materials and shop assemblies, using Total Station as needed. • Conduct rotational capacity tests on bolts and monitor welder qualification tests and welding parameters for WPS compliance. • Work with outside and DOT inspectors to resolve quality issues and coordinate QC hold point inspections. • Maintain logs, complete required reports, and conduct audits of the Quality Management System. • Communicate inspection results to crews, supervisors, and the Quality Manager, proposing corrective actions. • Interpret welding codes, specifications, and blueprints to verify geometric tolerances. • Coordinate inspections with the shipping department to ensure loads are ready for shipment. • Use safe work habits, be available via radio for checks, and remain flexible to work early or late within the shift.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a current CWI or ASNT VT Level II. Relocation assistance may be provided. • Required: Certified Welding Inspector certification or ASNT VT Level II. • Preferred: ASNT MT Level II, ASNT UT Level II, NACE or SSPC BCI Level I, and fabrication shop background.
