About the Role
The Plant Maintenance Technician monitors and maintains the operation of all plant systems and equipment, including balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. This role responds to system failures by taking corrective action or assigning repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation. The technician reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. Key responsibilities include performing repairs in compliance with WM Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA standards, and conducting preventive maintenance inspections to diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment such as balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electromagnetic belts, optical sorters, compressors, and more. The technician maintains the Daily Equipment Inspection backlog, adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, inspects third‑party repairs, and recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality. Additional duties involve handling emergency breakdown service calls, multitasking across priorities, working with limited supervision, and adhering to a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends while keeping the work area clean and safe. • Perform repairs following WM Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA regulations. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment such as balers, conveyors, hydraulic packs, eddy currents, electromagnetic belts, optical sorters, compressors, and more. • Maintain Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog. • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and notify the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager when additional work is required or Standard Repair Times cannot be met. • Inspect and verify the quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds. • Recommend improvements to production, equipment performance, and product quality. • Manage multiple priorities and perform emergency service calls for breakdowns. • Keep work areas clean and safe in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are a minimum of two years of relevant maintenance experience, being at least 18 years old, legal eligibility to work in the United States, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Candidates must successfully complete pre‑employment drug screening and a physical examination. The position involves working both inside gas‑plant environments and outdoors in inclement weather, heat, and humidity. • Work with limited supervision and adapt to a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. • Minimum 2 years relevant maintenance experience. • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. • Able to meet physical job demands with or without reasonable accommodations. • Successfully complete pre‑employment drug screening and physical examination.
