About the Role

Role Summary: The Field Engineer 2 will support construction activities for routine projects and ensure that the planned work of the crew is performed efficiently and effectively. This position will be responsible for completing tasks personally and by supervising a crew as a working foreman. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. • Follow directions and refer exceptions to supervisor. • Participate actively in project safety plans and culture. • Mentor others to maintain an injury‑free environment. • Perform self‑perform work with tools as part of a craftsman crew. • Acquire building and construction best practices through on‑the‑job training. • Build relationships and communicate with foremen, journeymen, superintendents and subcontractors. • Apply equipment standards for specific building processes. • Collaborate and demonstrate teamwork. • Incorporate Lean practices daily. • Attend weekly work‑plan and other project meetings. • Plan, execute and report self‑perform work. • Pre‑plan crew activities, maintain daily task plans and look‑ahead schedules, update supervisor. • Contribute to project safety plans, conduct training, toolbox talks and coordinate with safety reps. • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve processes. • Support quality assurance and control for assigned tasks. • Assist with material, other costs (MOC) and equipment analysis. • Work with superintendent on crew size, packaging, and contractor coordination. • Manage punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and documentation. • Lead or support planning meetings, weekly work plans and look‑aheads. • Coordinate with various company functions to meet project needs. • Lead Lean construction practices such as the Last Planner System. • Plan sequencing and coordination of all trades. • Optimize project productivity and labor efficiency. • Build relationships and collaborate within internal and external teams.
