About the Role

The engineer will engage in bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects, conducting structural analyses, supporting field inspections, preparing technical documentation, and providing CAD drafting while coordinating with other design disciplines on transportation improvement initiatives. • Perform bridge load rating analysis and generate reports. • Support and document bridge inspection field work. • Create and modify CAD drawings for design development. • Assist in preparing technical design, evaluation, and quantity estimate reports. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on federally, state, and locally funded transportation projects. • Apply structural engineering principles and adhere to relevant design codes and MassDOT/MBTA/RIDOT standards. • Utilize structural analysis software such as AutoCAD, AASHTOWare, CSi Bridge, STAAD, etc. • Communicate technical findings effectively to engineering and non‑engineering stakeholders. • Uphold WSP’s Code of Conduct, safety, and health policies.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, possess 1–3 years of relevant experience, be familiar with bridge design codes and MassDOT/MBTA/RIDOT requirements, and be proficient with industry‑standard analysis software and strong communication skills. Additional assets include Engineer‑in‑Training certification, a master’s degree, prior design work, and active participation in professional societies. • Meet required qualifications: bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering, 1–3 years of experience, knowledge of bridge design and codes, proficiency with analysis software, strong analytical and communication skills. • Preferred qualifications: Engineer‑in‑Training certification, master’s degree in structural engineering, prior design experience, active involvement in professional organizations.
