About the Role
This role is responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and managing the performance of all drivers and helpers. It also focuses on establishing and maintaining positive relationships with frontline employees, with the majority of the work day spent in the field alongside them. Key duties include providing new frontline employees with the tools, instruction, and feedback needed for daily success, meeting with them daily for consistent communication, and offering timely touchpoints. The role regularly reviews best practices to enhance performance, supports employee career goals, identifies improvement opportunities, and practices coaching conversations. It also leads by example on safety, teaches the WM Way, conducts root‑cause investigations for injuries, maintains regulatory records, audits route documentation, and visits customers to resolve safety issues. The position operates in a combination of office and plant/field environments, routinely requiring the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. • Onboard, coach, mentor, and manage performance of drivers and helpers. • Provide daily tools, instruction, feedback, and consistent communication to new frontline employees. • Conduct regular safety reviews, root‑cause investigations, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. • Audit route documentation (DVIRs, time‑cards, tickets) and follow up on discrepancies. • Identify improvement opportunities, support employee career goals, and deliver coaching feedback. • Visit customers to assess and resolve safety issues and explore service alternatives.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are an accredited associate’s degree or a high school diploma with two years of relevant experience, being at least 18 years old, legal eligibility to work in the country, and a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include successful completion of the WM Operations Manager Trainee program.
