About the Role

The Rodman will transport and set up the instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and prepare the job site for survey. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work‑related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting. • Clear any trees, brush, etc. from survey line • Lay out stakes to prepare for elevation measurements • Assist surveyor in determining elevations • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring

The role requires the ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lb regularly and up to 100 lb occasionally. It involves repetitive hand, arm, and leg use, hand‑eye coordination, and clear communication (hearing, comprehension, speaking) for safety. The worker must perform tasks ranging from sedentary to heavy work, operate various hand and power tools, and climb or balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. Frequent activities include grasping, lifting, handling, bending, twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, and standing on uneven, muddy, rocky, or soft surfaces, sometimes in confined spaces and adverse weather. The position requires effective communication with management and supervision, as well as reading and writing comprehension for giving and receiving directions and safety policies. The worker must be able to use math and perform calculations, work at varying tempos while concentrating amid distractions, and make sound decisions. Attention to detail is essential, requiring the ability to remember, examine, and observe details.
