What You Bring

Kimley‑Horn is looking for engineering students to join its Overland Park, Kansas office in an on‑site internship. The position is not remote, offering hands‑on experience with the firm’s projects and teams. Interns will regularly use technical software to analyze, produce, and quality‑control deliverables, and will contribute to pre‑construction civil engineering design, planning, permitting, and analysis on diverse projects. They will solve complex problems, support project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions. Interns will also gain familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations as well as Kimley‑Horn and client standards, and receive training in industry‑specific tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, MicroStation, VISSIM, OpenRoads, Synchro, and GIS. Candidates must be pursuing an ABET‑accredited engineering degree (B.S. or M.S.) in civil or environmental engineering, mechanical, biological, biosystems, chemical, agricultural engineering, or engineering technology. • Gain proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, MicroStation, VISSIM, OpenRoads, Synchro, and GIS. • Pursuing an ABET‑accredited B.S. or M.S. in civil/environmental, mechanical, biological, biosystems, chemical, agricultural engineering, or engineering technology.
