About the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership in supervising field sampling and laboratory activities that support Clean Energy Center (CEC) operations, troubleshooting, and projects, while ensuring compliance with chemistry analytical and radioanalytical programs and all quality and regulatory requirements. The position also includes coaching and mentoring of all technicians. Key responsibilities include supervising chemistry technicians in sample collection and lab analysis, leading chemistry‑related projects, reviewing CEC work schedules to anticipate impacts on chemistry, and ensuring proper scheduling and execution of all required CEC samples and regulatory analyses. Additional duties cover overseeing lab instrument quality, managing technician policies, scheduling, budgets, and participating in Emergency Response and Chemistry on‑Call rotations. • Supervise chemistry technicians in sample collection and laboratory analysis, providing coaching on fundamentals and procedure compliance. • Lead and support chemistry‑related projects aligned with CEC operations and troubleshooting. • Review CEC work schedules to anticipate chemical impacts and coordinate technician activities. • Schedule and execute all required CEC samples and regulatory analyses on time. • Oversee quality and compliance of lab instrument operation and chemical hygiene practices. • Manage technician policies, work schedules, and departmental budgets. • Participate in Emergency Response Organization and Chemistry on‑Call rotations as needed. • Maintain required qualifications per ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 and meet access and medical standards.

What You Bring

Minimum qualifications require a High School diploma/GED with 9 years of experience (including 3 years related, 1 year nuclear plant, and 0.25 years on‑site), an Associate's degree with 7 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, all meeting ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 standards and access/medical requirements. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with 5 years of nuclear plant chemistry experience, supervisory experience, Navy ELT or nuclear power plant chemistry technician credentials, and Radiochemistry Supervisor qualifications (radiochemistry training and 2 years gamma spectroscopy). • Preferred: Bachelor’s in chemistry or chemical engineering with nuclear plant experience, supervisory background, Navy ELT or nuclear power plant chemistry technician credentials, and Radiochemistry Supervisor qualifications.
