About the Role

The role focuses on the construction, maintenance, and inspection of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) assets and related highway electrical systems. You will carry out construction and reconstruction of traffic signals, variable message signs and other ITS equipment, ensuring compliance with Yunex Traffic standards, legislative requirements and customer contracts. Maintenance duties may be planned or reactive, requiring the ability to adapt to changing conditions. The position operates on a rotating schedule of roughly 70 % night shift and 30 % day shift, with overtime opportunities as needed. • Construct and reconstruct ITS assets such as traffic control signals, variable message signs, and hazard warning signs. • Perform electrical testing of ITS assets. • Prepare equipment (e.g., signal controllers, vehicle detection systems) prior to installation. • Commission ITS assets. • Install or modify new and existing ITS assets. • Undertake additional training for new equipment and systems as required. • Liaise with customers and other contractors on site. • Ensure work complies with site specifications, is timely and of high quality. • Follow company health and safety policies and proactively identify and mitigate hazards. • Meet strict deadlines and manage own workload independently. • Deliver accurate, reliable work with a focus on getting it right the first time. • Maintain physical fitness for manual handling requirements.

What You Bring

• Complete mandatory technical and safety training. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with business partners and customers. • Adapt quickly to changing tasks, learn new activities and shift work areas as needed. • Contribute to team goals, communicate well within the team and support high morale. • Understanding of traffic signal fundamentals and TfNSW Specification D&C TS101. • Familiarity with Transport for NSW (RMS) ITS standards and specifications. • Knowledge of industry ITS and traffic signal products. • Hold a full driver’s licence. • Possess a NSW Electrical licence. • Hold a valid White card (construction safety certification).
