About the Role
In this role the engineer will lead obsolescence mitigation, new‑technology integration, and capability‑and‑requirements changes for the PGSE program. Responsibilities include reviewing system requirements, developing impact studies, creating and reviewing technical drawings and digital models, and coordinating design updates with OEMs, vendors, foreign partners, and U.S. government stakeholders. The position also requires oversight of test objectives, witnessing test events, validating software and hardware requirements, analyzing results, and delivering high‑confidence fielding recommendations to the U.S. Government. Acting as a liaison, the engineer will align integration programs and product modifications across other Product Offices. • Lead obsolescence mitigation, new‑technology integration, and capability/requirements changes for PGSE. • Review and analyze system requirements and technical data; develop impact studies and alternative courses of action. • Create and review technical drawings, specifications, digital engineering models, and software updates. • Conduct and brief meetings with OEMs, vendors, foreign military partners, and U.S. government stakeholders to synchronize designs and schedules. • Oversee test objectives, witness testing, and validate software and hardware requirements. • Analyze test results and present high‑confidence fielding recommendations to the U.S. Government. • Act as liaison with other Product Offices to align integration programs and product modifications. • Maintain (or be able to obtain) an active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

What You Bring
KBR is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with experience on PATRIOT Ground Support Equipment (PGSE) hardware and U.S. military standards. The engineer will join the senior engineering staff supporting the Program Acquisition Executive Fires – Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office, shaping future engineering concepts and guiding current efforts to meet warfighter and Army acquisition objectives. Basic qualifications include a certified undergraduate degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering, a minimum of five years of experience in U.S. Department of War air and missile defense systems engineering, U.S. citizenship, and an active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain one). Preferred qualifications feature a master’s degree in systems engineering, proficiency in interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings and military specifications, five years designing and reviewing military system requirements, and experience delivering technical briefings to government customers. Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw, knowledge of Army acquisition processes, and a background in ground support equipment hardware design are also valued. • Hold an accredited undergraduate degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering. • Possess at least five years of experience in U.S. Department of War air and missile defense systems engineering. • Preferably hold a master’s degree in systems engineering and be proficient with MBSE tools (Cameo, MagicDraw). • Demonstrated ability to interpret military engineering specifications and deliver technical briefings to government customers.
