About the Role
You will perform assigned maintenance service requests efficiently while minimizing disruption and ensuring proper cleanup. Responsibilities include completing preventative‑maintenance tasks, training operations staff, and demonstrating proper tool use and basic safety and troubleshooting procedures. You will maintain mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life‑safety, and control systems, record readings, and adjust equipment as needed. Routine duties involve cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts of HVAC and related equipment to maintain optimal performance. You will comply with policies for safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials and keep the workplace clean and safe. Periodic checks of tool and instrument inventories are also required, and you will be part of an on‑call rotation responding to emergencies 24 hours a day. • Perform maintenance service requests efficiently with minimal disruption. • Execute preventative‑maintenance tasks and train operations staff. • Maintain mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life‑safety, and control systems. • Record equipment readings, adjust settings, and ensure optimal HVAC performance. • Follow safety policies for hazardous‑material handling and maintain a clean workplace. • Conduct periodic inventory checks of tools and instruments. • Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation for emergency response.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include at least three years of commercial building operations experience and a Building Environmental Systems (BES) certification or two years of trades schooling in electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC. You must be able to analyze system operations, diagnose problems, and implement corrective actions. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required, and you must be available for the on‑call rotation. • Minimum 3 years commercial building operations experience. • BES certification or two years of trades training in electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for system issues. • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Availability for on‑call rotation.

Benefits
The estimated compensation for this position is CAD 70,000–77,000 per year, subject to variation based on qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations. The role is on‑site in Kanata, Ontario, and is a replacement opening. • Estimated salary CAD 70,000–77,000 per year.
