About the Role

Key duties include performing fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigations and geophysical surveys, logging soil and rock samples, and interacting with drilling contractors and clients. The engineer also observes construction activities, conducts material testing, and under senior supervision completes foundation, settlement, and slope‑stability calculations. • Conduct geotechnical drilling, sampling, and soil/rock logging for subsurface investigations. • Perform geophysical surveys and coordinate with drilling contractors and clients. • Observe construction activities and execute material testing/inspection. • Complete shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, and slope‑stability calculations under senior supervision. • Review and interpret in‑situ and laboratory test results for soil and bedrock samples. • Travel up to 75 % to project sites across the United States during the first two years.

What You Bring

Applicants need strong analytical and communication skills, a solid understanding of soil mechanics, geology, or geophysical methods, and at least a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical focus (master’s preferred). Travel up to 75 % of the time to project sites nationwide, relocation to Round Rock, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with MS Office are required; familiarity with gINT, GIS, Slope/W, and LPile is a plus. • Relocate to Round Rock, TX and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean record. • Hold a BS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical); a master’s degree is preferred. • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with gINT, GIS mapping, Slope/W, and LPile is advantageous.
