About the Role

• Research energy analysis tools for natural ventilation and parameterize them using CFD simulations. • Conduct original research developing or applying novel physics‑informed machine learning techniques. • Implement prototypes to test and demonstrate new ideas and methods. • Develop prototypes using both open‑source and in‑house libraries. • Write documentation as academic publications or internal white papers. • Lead learning sessions to share technical expertise within the SOS Group.

What You Bring

The Simulation, Optimization and Systems (SOS) Group at Autodesk Research is looking for a passionate and skilled research intern for Summer 2025 at our San Francisco office located in One Market, Ste. 400. The ideal intern will conduct research and develop prototype code to combine machine learning with computational tools for analyzing air flow and heat transfer in building environments. • Pursuing a PhD in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. • Experience with data‑driven methods in simulation. • Experience developing physics simulation tools and numerical solvers. • Experience with AI model training frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Flax. • Strong proficiency in Python. • Track record of publishing in top‑tier conferences and journals.

For U.S.-based interns, starting annualized base salaries range from $47,840 to $95,680 for undergraduate students, $72,800 to $118,500 for Masters/MBA students, and $118,560 to $162,240 for PhD students.
