About the Role
The Driver/Operator role at Waste Management involves safely operating a heavy‑duty natural‑gas truck on designated transfer routes. The position requires adherence to OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining a clean and safe vehicle. Key responsibilities include conducting pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents promptly, and completing all required documentation at the end of each route. The driver collaborates with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiency, responds to customer requests, and ensures containers are dumped and positioned correctly without leaving debris. • Operate heavy‑duty truck in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and record findings on DVIR. • Report unsafe situations, incidents, injuries, or property damage immediately. • Communicate customer requests and route issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager. • Dump containers cleanly, position them upright, replace lids, and avoid blocking driveways. • Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal. • Follow assigned routes, assist other drivers as directed, and finalize documentation each day. • Participate in required training, briefings, and meetings.

What You Bring
No formal education or prior experience is required, but a Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) and a minimum age of 18 are mandatory. Candidates must pass a DOT drug screen, physical, background check, and maintain an acceptable driving record. • Maintain a valid CDL‑B, be at least 18 years old, and have an acceptable driving record. • Successfully pass pre‑employment DOT drug test, physical, background, and motor‑vehicle record checks.
