About the Role

Technicians receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, contact customers to ascertain equipment issues, and diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm and related building systems. They follow troubleshooting procedures using manuals, bulletins and schematics, install and service fire‑ and life‑safety systems from various manufacturers, and interpret blueprints and submittals. Consistent communication with district staff and customers ensures satisfaction, and technicians complete service acknowledgments and obtain customer signatures via smart devices. • Respond to service calls, diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm and life‑safety systems. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for multiple manufacturers. • Perform panel programming, device replacement, low‑voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing. • Provide excellent customer service, obtain signatures, and complete service acknowledgments via mobile devices. • Participate in on‑call rotation, mentor team members, and support scheduling/management needs. • Identify efficiency solutions, prepare quotes, and pursue upselling opportunities. • Maintain truck inventory and ensure safety compliance following Zero Harm policy.

What You Bring

The position involves panel programming, device replacement, low‑voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing, as well as organizing technical resources to execute tasks efficiently. Candidates must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, customer‑service skills, and familiarity with CCTV, IT and IP networks. Documentation of tasks, productivity, and after‑hours or on‑call work is required, and technicians provide recommendations, quotes and upselling opportunities to improve facility efficiency. Applicants need at least six years of documented experience with low‑voltage electrical systems, including fire/life‑safety, access control, nurse call and paging systems, and must be able to read and interpret technical drawings. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the ability to lift 50‑70 lb, work at heights up to 40 ft, and adapt to flexible schedules, including weekends. NICET Level I certification is mandatory, with Level II strongly preferred, and a valid driver’s license meeting company standards is essential. • Must have 6+ years experience with fire/Life Safety, access control, nurse call, and paging systems. • Require NICET Level I certification; NICET Level II preferred. • Ability to lift 50‑70 lb, work at heights up to 40 ft, and maintain flexible schedule including weekends.
