About the Role

The Senior Construction Inspector will represent the client’s interests by delivering comprehensive construction administration and inspection services. Daily observations will ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and client engineering standards. The inspector will prepare and maintain construction administration documents, observation reports, schedule monitoring, payment application reviews, testing coordination, and manage project communications and meetings, culminating in punch lists and final documentation. • Conduct daily construction observations to verify compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications. • Create, issue, and maintain construction administration documents such as material testing reports, RFIs, change orders, daily diaries, and pay applications. • Provide observation reports that track construction schedule progress and include photo documentation. • Review and recommend monthly contractor payment applications against measured and observed contract bid items. • Maintain daily contractor communication and correspondence. • Coordinate and monitor all mandatory testing per contract requirements. • Organize and participate in pre‑construction and periodic construction meetings. • Compile project punch lists and final documentation in accordance with owner requirements.

What You Bring

Candidates should have at least a two‑year civil technical degree (preferred) and a minimum of ten years’ inspection experience on public transportation and municipal projects. Required certifications include current MnDOT Construction Technician credentials in grading, bituminous, and concrete, with additional certifications in bridge, signals/lighting, or landscaping preferred and supported. Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation, Microsoft Office, a valid MnDOT Class D driver’s license, and a self‑motivated, team‑oriented approach are essential.
