About the Role

In this role you will lead cross‑functional teams of engineers, planners and other disciplines through all phases of rail projects, from concept development through construction, testing, commissioning and hand‑over to operations. You will apply Systems Engineering processes, review designs for compliance, stay current with engineering techniques, support business development, and ensure quality of deliverables. You will also provide performance guidance to assigned staff, act as a trusted advisor across multiple disciplines, make ethical decisions regarding company resources, and take on additional responsibilities as business needs arise. • Lead technical aspects of contract negotiations, presentations and meetings. • Review traction power and OCS concepts, designs and specifications for compliance and cost estimates. • Participate in WSP’s quality process for all deliverables. • Provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff. • Collaborate across disciplines to deliver future‑ready solutions as a trusted advisor. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds and resources. • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the latest traction power and OCS engineering techniques. • Work flexible schedules and prioritize responsibilities in high‑pressure environments.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, has more than ten years of experience with planning, design, procurement, installation, testing and construction management of traction power and OCS systems for Amtrak or similar railroads, and demonstrates strong written and interpersonal communication, systems‑engineering expertise, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills. Immediate availability to work in the U.S., a solid safety record, flexibility in schedule and occasional travel are required; a master’s degree and professional licensure are preferred.

The expected salary range is $115,800‑$205,000, subject to experience, location and internal equity.
