About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will own the full lifecycle of complex power‑utility construction projects, overseeing safety, cost, schedule, quality, client relationships, and team performance. Acting as the central liaison between clients, internal leadership, and field operations, the role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. • Lead electrical distribution, transmission, and substation construction from pre‑construction through closeout. • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations. • Serve as primary client liaison, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction. • Mentor and supervise Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and support staff. • Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost‑to‑complete, change orders, and margin optimization. • Monitor performance using Earned Value Management to mitigate cost and schedule risks. • Review and approve contracts, change orders, subcontractor agreements, and procurement strategies. • Coordinate closely with field leadership to align project plans with on‑site execution. • Enforce strict compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and quality standards. • Identify project risks and opportunities and implement mitigation or recovery plans. • Facilitate project meetings with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and vendors. • Manage project documentation, reporting, billing, and closeout activities. • Support business development by contributing to proposals, estimates, and client presentations.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering or a related field, and bring at least seven years of progressive utility construction management experience with full P&L responsibility. Required expertise includes utility standards, NESC codes, OSHA regulations, financial stewardship, leadership of cross‑functional teams, and proficiency with tools such as Primavera P6 or Procore; travel to project sites is expected. Preferred qualifications include experience with investor‑owned utilities, permitting and right‑of‑way work, PMP or OSHA 30 certification, and strong negotiation and risk‑management skills. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or related field. • Possess 7+ years of progressive utility construction management experience with full P&L responsibility. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of utility standards, NESC codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance. • Exhibit proven leadership in managing cross‑functional project teams and stakeholders. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software such as Primavera P6 or Procore. • Ability to read, interpret, and manage construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. • Willingness to travel to project sites as required. • Preferred: experience with investor‑owned utilities, cooperatives, or municipal power companies. • Preferred: knowledge of permitting, easement acquisition, right‑of‑way coordination, and utility relocation. • Preferred: PMP certification, OSHA 30, or other relevant professional certifications.
