About the Role

In this role you will lead the day‑to‑day technical delivery of civil‑engineering consultancy, covering feasibility, concept, planning, detailed design and construction. You will provide expertise in drainage, SuDS, flood risk, highways, streetscape, earthworks and utilities, act as Project Manager on multi‑disciplinary schemes, guide a team of technical staff and ensure projects are delivered on budget, on programme and to required quality standards. • Lead technical delivery of civil‑engineering consultancy across all project life‑cycle stages. • Provide specialist expertise in drainage, SuDS, flood risk, highways, streetscape, earthworks and utilities. • Act as Project Manager on multi‑disciplinary projects and mentor junior staff. • Manage client and stakeholder relationships to meet budget, programme and quality targets. • Produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, design calculations and construction drawings. • Apply relevant design codes (Water UK, DMRB, Manual for Streets, SuDS Manual) and ensure compliance. • Utilise and oversee software tools such as Micro Drainage, Info Drainage and Civil 3D/PDS. • Coordinate with highway, water, statutory and local authorities to secure technical approvals.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in highway design, drainage strategies, flood risk assessment and utility planning, with an awareness of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and construction stages. You should be proficient with design codes such as Water UK, DMRB, Manual for Streets and SuDS Manual, and comfortable using software like Micro Drainage, Info Drainage and Civil 3D. Experience liaising with clients, statutory bodies and authorities, and knowledge of legal, financial and contractual aspects of development projects are essential. You should be near chartered status (ICE) or possess equivalent commercial experience and be willing to become a supervising or delegated civil engineer. • Demonstrate knowledge of legal, planning, financial and contractual aspects of development projects. • Near completion of ICE chartered status or equivalent experience; willing to become a supervising civil engineer.
