About the Role

The Health and Safety Manager will drive Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance, culture, and performance across multiple Peeler facilities in the Pacific Northwest, acting as a strategic partner to operations and the on‑the‑ground expert for EHS programs, audits, training, and incident management. The role is based primarily at one Washington State site while providing hands‑on support and routine travel to surrounding locations, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and Stella‑Jones’ internal EHS and Quality (QA/M1003) management systems. • Lead EHS and QA activities across multiple Peeler facilities to ensure regulatory compliance. • Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments to identify improvement opportunities. • Manage EHS permit applications, renewals, and related documentation. • Implement and continuously improve EHS and QA policies, programs, and procedures. • Oversee the QA M1003 management system at assigned locations. • Deliver and coordinate EHS/QA training for supervisors, hourly staff, and leadership. • Advise plant managers and employees on safety expectations and environmental compliance. • Foster a strong safety culture through engagement, communication, and visible leadership. • Lead investigations of accidents, near‑misses, and environmental incidents and ensure corrective actions. • Maintain accurate EHS reporting, recordkeeping, and documentation per regulatory and internal standards. • Participate in company‑wide safety programs and initiatives. • Travel regularly among Pacific Northwest Peeler facilities to provide on‑site support.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Safety/Occupational Health plus 2 years industrial safety experience, OR high school diploma plus 5 years experience. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems. • Experience implementing safety management systems (preferred). • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to train staff on environmental and safety protocols. • Teamwork and collaboration abilities. • OSHA‑authorized safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30‑hour General Industry, OSHA 511, OSHA 510) preferred. • Ability to purchase company stock.
