About the Role
The role involves assisting in project management and leading tasks, completing structural analyses on towers and mounts to meet industry and client standards, and providing design calculations, modifications, and construction drawings while overseeing quality control. The engineer will also train and mentor Engineers‑in‑Training, support client and contractor meetings, and help identify new project opportunities through networking. • Assist with project management and lead tasks • Perform structural analysis on towers and mounts per industry/client requirements • Train and mentor Engineers‑in‑Training (EITs) • Conduct design calculations, modifications, and produce construction drawings while maintaining quality control • Support meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design teams • Identify project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients

What You Bring
Kimley‑Horn’s Akron, Ohio office is hiring a Structural Engineer with at least four years of experience to work on its Telecom team. This position is onsite and not remote. Candidates must have four or more years of relevant engineering design experience and hold (or be able to obtain within 12 months) a Professional Engineering license. Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as tnxTower, RISA 3D, AutoCAD, TEDDS, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office is required, along with strong urgency, self‑discipline, detail‑orientation, and the ability to multitask across multiple projects. • Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering design experience • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months • Proficient in tnxTower, RISA 3D, AutoCAD, TEDDS, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office • Strong sense of urgency and self‑discipline to meet deadlines • Ability to multitask on multiple concurrent projects • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills with focus on personal and staff development • Positive, can‑do attitude and strong work ethic
