About the Role

The role involves leading civil engineering design for data center sites, covering master planning, grading, drainage, utilities, and road infrastructure, as well as preparing construction documents, reports, specifications, and site plans. The engineer will design wastewater and stormwater control systems, support permitting processes, coordinate with structural, electrical, geotechnical, and surveying teams, and review contractor submittals while conducting site visits as needed. Additional duties include ensuring code compliance, contributing to cost estimating and scheduling, and mentoring junior staff to maintain quality across deliverables. • Lead civil engineering design for data center developments, including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway infrastructure. • Prepare construction documents, engineering reports, technical specifications, and civil site plan sets. • Design gravitational wastewater systems and stormwater pollution prevention plans. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, electrical, geotechnical, surveying) and support permitting processes. • Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and conduct site visits to verify progress. • Ensure design compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. • Support cost estimating, scheduling, and overall project planning activities. • Mentor junior engineers and uphold quality assurance across project deliverables.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and possess at least five years of relevant experience with data center facilities and land development. A Professional Engineering license is required or must be obtained within six months, and proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD, and related design tools is essential. The ideal applicant demonstrates strong knowledge of hydrology, grading, stormwater management, and utility systems, has experience navigating permitting agencies and utility providers, and exhibits excellent communication, organizational, and client‑facing skills while managing multiple fast‑paced projects. • Hold a BS or MS in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of experience in data center and land development projects. • Possess a Professional Engineering license or obtain it within six months of hire. • Demonstrate proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD, and related civil design software.
