Quality Inspector - CWI

About the Role

• Perform visual inspections, layout checks, and dimensional checks on materials and assemblies, using Total Station as needed. • Conduct rotational capacity tests on bolts and monitor welder qualification tests and welding parameters per approved WPS. • Collaborate with outside inspectors, welders, leadmen, and supervisors to resolve quality issues and maintain standards. • Record work, maintain logs, complete required reports, and coordinate QC hold‑point inspections with production and DOT inspectors. • Communicate inspection results, evaluate problems, propose corrective actions, and coordinate with shipping to ensure inspected loads are ready for dispatch. • Promote and enforce safe work habits and safety procedures. • Interpret specifications, codes, and blueprints; make informed decisions based on project requirements. • Develop and implement quality‑control process improvements and conduct Quality Management System audits.

What You Bring

Applicants must hold a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT VT Level II certification, and relocation assistance may be provided. • Required: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT VT Level II certification. • Preferred: ASNT MT Level II, ASNT UT Level II, NACE or SSPC BCI Level I, and fabrication shop background.
